Baku Humanitarian Forum features Breakout Session “Disinformation Policy – a Threat to Stability in the Modern World”

The 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum continues into the second day with a Breakout Session “Disinformation Policy – a Threat to Stability in the Modern World”. Organized by AZERTAC, the session looks at consequences of misinformation, in particular the threats it poses to global peace and stability.
The two-part session brings together heads and representatives of local and foreign media, international and regional media organizations, and acclaimed experts.
The first part of the session will be moderated by Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, President of News Agencies World Congress and the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) Aslan Aslanov and First Deputy Director General of Russian news agency TASS, vice-president of News Agencies World Council Mikhail Gusman. It will hear remarks from member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Dmitry Savelyev, Director General of Romanian News Agency AGERPRES and Secretary General of European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) Alexandru Ion Giboi, Vice-president of Parliament of Estonia Kalle Laanet, Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Seyyed Zia Hashemi, lecturer at ADA University Shafag Mehraliyeva, Director General of Belarus Segodnya Media Holding Dmitry Zhuk, and Editor-in-Chief of Hoy Los-Angeles newspaper Alejandro Maciel.
The second part of the session will be moderated by Special Correspondent of AZERTAC in Germany, Secretary General of OANA Vugar Seyidov. It will hear speeches from Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, President of News Agencies World Congress and OANA Aslan Aslanov, Director General of Russian news agency TASS, Chairman of CIS Council of Heads of State News Agencies Sergey Mikhaylov, Secretary General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies Farid Ayar, Director General of Albanian Telegraphic Agency ATA Armela Krasniqi, Director General of the Lebanon National News Agency Laure Sleiman, International Programs Assistant of Marquette University, expert on international relations Peter Tase, Dean of Faculty of Law at Baku State University Amir Aliyev, and project manager at Anadolu Agency Elife Cekem.
This year’s Baku International Humanitarian Forum is held under the motto “Shaping a New World and a New Humanity: Creativity and Human Development”. The forum brings together more than 580 delegates from 86 countries and representatives of 24 international organizations.
